We’d been waiting three weeks for the rain to stop so we could make our annual trip to the bluebell woods. Today we decided we just couldn’t wait any longer. So, despite it being a cold, grey, rainy Saturday in May, we set off and were glad we did. The bluebells were not at their best but this little bit of woodland remains a magical place. And we got the new photo to go in the gallery: The Bluebell Years.

Charlie and me (and Gordon Beckham and Adam Dunn) at Camelback Ranch. We made it to three White Sox games on our visit to Arizona and had a great time, despite the Sox losing two out of three.

Our snowy garden this morning after we got 4 1/2 inches of snow overnight. As usual, it has brought England to a standstill. We’re hoping for more and a snow day or two!

Another milestone for Charlie as he makes the first of what will be thousands and thousands of cash withdrawals from an ATM. He’s had a bank account for a while but this was the first time he used his bank card to get some cold hard cash. And thus Mum & Dad take another step closer to parental redundancy.

Santa has been very good to all of us this year. Hope yours was as happy a Christmas as ours.
