Our good friend Chris Gulker has been taking a trip down memory lane. Chris was a photographer at the LA Herald Examiner, where I also worked. He dug out this photo of editor Jim Bellows and Mary Ann Dolan in the Herex newsroom for Steve Latham, who is making a PBS documentary, The Last Editor, about Bellows. One of my great regrets is that I started at the Herex just after Bellows left, thus missing the chance to work for one of the legendary characters in American journalism. 11:35:41 PM
