What we have been doing is working on ridey.net, fixing up a lot of problems that we just discovered were apparent to visitors using Windows (it's always looked just fine on a Mac!).

We've just added the ability to search ridey.net via google at the lower lefthand of the page. Sadly, we don't get any of the ad revenue from the google boys. 2:20:55 PM

Fire strike goes ahead. Firefighters in Britain return to the picket lines for an eight-day strike after the acrimonious failure of all-night talks to resolve their pay dispute.
It's a bit worrying that 50,000 firefighters are being replaced by a few thousand soldiers equipped with fire engines that were built in the 1950s and that have ladders which only go up about three stories. 2:14:25 PM

Three charged with 'Tube terror plot'. Three men have been charged with terrorism offences over an alleged plot to carry out a terror attack on the London Underground. All signs are pointing to London being next on Al Qaeda's target list. We're just glad that neither of us ever uses the Underground. 11:29:59 AM

 Google's recently added news search function isn't the place to go if you want to find the best news coverage, just the most recent. One thing it does well, though, is local news. Today I found an interesting story in, of all places, the Tallahassee Press Democrat, about a place called Prairie Crossing, a new housing development in Grayslake, Illinois, my hometown. Hmm, looks pretty good to us. The Prairie Crossing website has a link to the current weather in Grayslake. |
