We've just set up Charlie's Weblog. Bookmark it or use the link in the navigation at the right of this page. News and photos about Charlie will now appear in his weblog (and sometimes on this one, too) and this one will just be my incoherent ramblings about this, that and the other. 5:12:40 PM |

Charlie's Christmas video is now on my mac.com site as well as ridey.net. The mac.com one is about four times faster to download, so I'd try that one. There are also a few new photos here. As always, you'll need to know the passwords. Email us if you've forgotten them! 2:10:55 PM |

"He didn't have a passport, so his mother sent him home in a taxi while she went to Spain. She told him there was a frozen pizza and plenty of stuff for him to microwave to eat while they were away. " It just wouldn't be Christmas without one of these stories in the newspapers. Or even two of them. 12:58:16 PM |

What do some of the best minds in Silicon Valley do on a cold December Monday evening? They get together to eat Chinese food and talk blogging. Chris Gulker's latest column for the Independent. Chris's columns are always a great read. 11:39:24 PM |

I've got an article in this week's New Statesman about Tony Blair, broadband and a broken promise. The NS has recently started charging for its content, but this article is available for free (which I have been assured is not a comment about its quality). 11:34:50 PM |

It was a little like Dog Day Afternoon in London on Thursday when a gunman took hostages at the HSBC bank just across the street from the offices of the New Statesman. I was working at home, so missed all the excitement. I use this bank all the time, usually about the time of day it happened. 12:26:58 PM |
