The frost was definitely on the pumpkin this Halloween, thanks to our early cold snap. But it didn’t discourage the roving hoards of ghouls from descending on our house! For this year’s Halloween quiz, can you tell which jack o’lantern is the McCain supporter?
Pedestrians walk over a snowy Millennium Bridge after London and much of south east England got a dusting Tuesday night. It was the first snow to fall in October in London since 1934! Are we in for a hard winter? Part of me wants it… I really miss good old Chicago-style snowstorms. But my more […]
Charlie with some of his birthday presents (too) early on his ninth birthday morning. The birthday festivities continue all weekend, with the big party on Sunday. More pictures to come!
They don’t call Jim Thome Mr Incredible for nothing! What a game! What a trio of games! I feel emotionally drained already and the playoffs are only starting. I love the photo below of Alexi Ramirez taken the moment he realises he has just hit a grand slam in the game against the Tigers. It […]

Prince Edward (watching some bikers and skateboarders in the skate park): “Do you ride your bike like […]
Charlie poses for his “baseball card” photo in his new uniform. Yesterday was Opening Day for the Horsham Junior Baseball Club and Charlie’s team, the Athletics, played the Red Sox. Charlie went three for four with two runs scored and in general had a great time even though the A’s lost 29-24 (with a controversial […]
Charlie took part in a concert at his school last week, playing two pieces on his recorder. The first is a duet with a classmate and the second a solo for which he didn’t even need to have the music in front of him. Bravo, Charlie! Put these on your iPod! Video one | Video […]
