In Britain, It’s No Big Deal

Meanwhile, here in Blighty, while all of America was getting bent out of shape about a breast, John Lydon (aka Johnny Rotten, lead singer of the Sex Pistols), has been a contestant on the UK version of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! The other night, Lydon reacted to his not being voted out by viewers by loudly and clearly saying: “the f—ing c—s”. On live television. With 11 million people watching. ITV, the broadcaster of the show, received a total of 70 complaints.

Me again. You know what’s really bad? I just turned on the game at the half just to see what was going on (OK-I could care less about the teams playing - not the Bears). I remember seeing P. Diddy, and then I guess Kid Rock, and wondered aloud if rap or hip hop or whatever the hell it is had taken over and I missed it. Then I heard them say “Justin Timberlake”, and I said, “This is where I draw the line. I won’t watch that dweeb.” And changed the channel. When I came back to the game later, There was a streaker (originality is totally lost, by the way) and a pretty good football game. Much later, I heard what I’d missed. I didn’t really care.
