Virtual thrills

coaster1.jpgWe’ve discovered something that actually rivals Lego Star Wars II, called the No Limits Roller Coaster simulator. It’s a very clever piece of software that lets you ride dozens of different virtual coasters, plus an editor that allows you to build your own (engineering degree required). Charlie absolutely loves it, which is funny because he had a bad experience last year on Space Mountain at Disneyland. It actually makes me feel a bit queasy, though. A free demo is available for both Mac and Windows. Highly recommended, but possibly not after a big meal…

Well, you hooked me on this one! I downloaded the demo, and nearly made myself queasy, too. There is no way Jeanne could ever watch it! Even built one of my own, but somehow worked a 15 degree hairpin turn in it, which was not good.

This is going to be fun - may have to fork over the $30 for the whole deal! Charlie and I can have coaster design contests!

Is this game worth it? I was thinking of getting it but people say the Editor is too hard to use. I cant find tutorials on the internet

It’s a bit tricky at first, but not too bad once you get the hang of it. An engineering degree would be a big asset, though, as would a tutorial.
